Position Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing full-cycle accounting activities for a portfolio of franchisee and corporate entities. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role supports daily finance operations, financial reporting, month-end and year-end processes, and special projects that contribute to the organization's overall financial success.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
This position will require you to:
- Perform full-cycle accounting functions for multiple corporate and franchise-related entities.
- Prepare and process journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Complete monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Analyze financial information and investigate discrepancies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Prepare franchise royalty and other operational reports as required.
- Assist with audit preparations and year-end working papers.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Support special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Finance department.
- Provide financial support to franchise operations and other internal stakeholders.
- Keep information confidential and secure.
Skills/Qualifications
- Post secondary education with preference to a degree or diploma in accounting and/or work experience as an accountant with a full cycle corporate entity.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, high level of integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively.
- Willingness and motivation to learn new processes and procedures

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
