About Styrok:
Styrok is a dynamic, and growing family-run company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of lightweight engineered limestone cladding. We are looking to bring on a talented Architectural Designer / Custom Project Coordinator to support our Lead Designer and directly assist with the execution of our custom projects.
This is a hands-on role that combines design, technical detailing, client communication, and project coordination. If you are someone with strong design instincts, a deep understanding of architectural cladding systems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team - you may be a perfect fit.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct client consultations and translate design vision into compelling 3D models using SketchUp
- Calculate material requirements and prepare production packages for factory use
- Generate accurate project quotes, estimates, change orders, and client-facing contracts
- Price projects and track profitability in collaboration with sales and operations
- Provide ongoing support and technical guidance to installers and site teams
- Follow up with prospective leads and schedule design consultations
- Assist in the design and development of new profiles, mouldings, catalog assets, and installation manuals
- Follow company SOPs and actively contribute ideas to improve our design and production processes
- Maintain timely communication with clients, team members, and leadership throughout each project lifecycle
Who You Are:
- Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology/Design, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a professional setting working on custom residential or small commercial projects
- Expert-level proficiency in SketchUp (if you are not already highly proficient, this role is not a fit)
- Deep understanding of exterior cladding systems, detailing, and Ontario Building Code (especially Part 3 and Part 9)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - you're respectful, clear, responsive, and team-oriented
- Highly organized, self-driven, detail-focused, and solution-oriented
- Willingness to take initiative and jump in where needed to ensure projects are executed successfully
