We are looking for casual and temporary part-time dietary aides to join our Culinary Services Team. We are looking for people who have a strong desire and ability to provide high quality services in our department and for our residents living in our complex care and assisted living home.
Description:
Our Dietary aides perform duties related to food and meal service operations, such as:
· Preparation, distribution and serving of meals/snacks/catering to residents/ clients/guests
· Dining room/tray setup and cleanup
· Dish/pot/utensils/equipment washing and cleaning of food service and related areas
· Putting away and rotation of food and supplies.
All duties were completed using safe food handling and sanitation techniques.
Skills and abilities:
Candidates must demonstrate:
· An ability for developing and maintaining respectful and effective working relationships with co-workers and others.
· Able to read and communicate well in English with staff, residents, volunteers and guests.
· Able to communicate tactfully and maturely when working with residents, staff, volunteers and guests.
· Must be in good health and physically able to carry out the duties of the position.
· Able to work in a warm, fast-paced and noisy environment.
· Able to learn new skills and procedures.
Education, Training & Experience needed:
· Grade 10 or equivalent general education.
· Current Food Safe - Level 1 certificate. Please provide expiry date.
· Experience working in an institutional kitchen preferred

Copies of relevant professional certificates, degrees/diplomas will be required from candidates who are shortlisted to proceed to further steps in the hiring process.
Further possibility for part time and full time positions may present itself depending on Haro Park Centre operational requirements, and in line with the respective collective agreements.
Shifts are available between 6:30 am and 9:30 pm, 7 days a week.
