BelPacific Excavating & Shoring, specializes in delivering efficient and safety conscious excavation and shoring solutions across Western Canada. Our skilled team and extensive fleet enable us to tackle any project size, ensuring cost-effective and timely outcomes while adhering to environmental safeguards.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide daily support as directed to the Shoring Division on-site team

Training workers and maintaining quality control

Ensuring that services are located and marked; the site is ready to be excavated and ready for equipment to be dropped off; batter boards are laid out and ready, and all equipment has had a pre-check drill: compressor and grout plant

Setting up equipment, loading casing into drill carousel, and leading casing and downhole hammer, and drill
-
Moving the drill into position with the support of Hydraulic Helper, making sure airlines and hydraulic lines are free and clear
-
Ensuring that the Hydraulic Helper has accurately set the drill into place and aligned the boom of the drill at the correct angle

Advancing the drill casing down to the desired depths

Pulling out the inner steel and leaving the casing in the ground for an anchor or pipe pile is installed

Installing a ½ inch PVC pipe into the casing, grouting the anchor up to the top
-
Pulling casing out and pressure grout as needed on extraction

Attend all mandatory safety meetings and act/work at all times in a safe manner
Qualifications & Skills:
-
High School diploma or equivalent certification
-
2+ years’ experience as a Hydraulic Driller on projects on a construction site, preferably on a Shoring site

Experience on Klemm 803,806,807, Interock An-150, smaller MPD, Comachio Mc4, Rangers rock drills or similar drills
-
Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and as part of a larger team

Willingness to learn and develop critical skills
-
Basic computer skills and the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

Ability to work in deep, confined spaces
-
Good work ethic and a willingness to learn, with a great safety orientation
-
Follows directions and works well within the crew
-
Holds a valid class 5 licence
-
Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and be fit to work
-
Willing and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
-
Shoring and anchoring knowledge is an asset
Compensation:
This is a Unionized position with union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union-sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan. Unionized wage range for this position is $37.32 - $47.25 per hour (based on candidate’s experience), plus 10-12% vacation/statutory holiday pay. This position needed for the Vancouver area does not provide any Living Out Subsidy.
