La Citadelle International Academy of Arts & Science is seeking committed, enthusiastic, and experienced teachers to join our team for the 2026–2027 academic year, beginning in September 2026.
We are a settled community of educators, and openings on our faculty are limited. We are not looking to fill positions — we are looking for the right people to join a long-standing team and stay for the long arc of their careers.
We are currently considering qualified candidates for full-time positions at the following levels:
- Secondary (Grades 9 to 12)
- Mathematics/STEM
- Physics, Chemistry
About Us
La Citadelle International Academy of Arts & Science is an independent school serving students from Prep K (2.5 years old) to Grade 12, grounded in academic excellence and holistic education. We teach both French and English as first languages, students develop full literacy, fluency, and academic mastery in both. Our community reflects the world our students will inherit: more than 35 nationalities are represented among our students, faculty, and staff.Founded in 2000, La Citadelle has spent more than two decades shaping young people into thoughtful, capable, and grounded individuals. Many of our students begin with us as toddlers and graduate as university-bound young adults, formed across the full arc of their development — intellectually, morally, and personally — in a safe and supportive learning environment. Why Teach Here
La Citadelle offers something rare: the chance to teach what you love, to students you genuinely know, in a community built for the long term. The educators who thrive here tell us it is these things above all else that makes their work meaningful.
Teach Your Field, Deeply
We hire teachers for their expertise. Our educators teach the disciplines they love across multiple grade levels, so they can build genuine depth in both their craft and their students’ understanding.
Know Every Student
Our class sizes are small by design. You will know every student by name, understand how each one learns, and have the time and space to actually shape their growth.
A Classroom Built for Teaching
Our students arrive ready to learn. They are respectful of their teachers, engaged with their work, and supported by families who reinforce the same values at home. The energy of the school flows toward the craft of teaching itself and for learners building essential skills: thinking, discussing, exploring, and embracing challenges.
Stability That Lets You Build a Career
Educators who join La Citadelle find a clear path — one-year and two-year contracts that lead toward permanent employment — and a leadership team that invests in their growth from the first day forward.
Who We Are Looking For
We hire for character as much as for credentials. The educators who thrive at La Citadelle share a few things in common:
- A sense of teaching as a vocation.
- Principled presence.
- Genuine passion for their subject.
- A growth mindset.
- A community orientation.
What We Offer
We invest in the teachers who invest in our students.
- One & Two-year contracts and a path to permanence —with a clear progression toward permanent employment for educators who become part of the fabric of the school.
- 12-month pay structure — your salary is distributed across all twelve months of the year, providing steady income through summer closure and school-year breaks.
- Three weeks of designated vacation — full-time educators receive three weeks of paid vacation across the school year, in addition to statutory holidays.
- Comprehensive health benefits — a full benefits package becomes available after four months of service, with the school covering 60% of the premium. Life insurance is available through the same plan.
- Small class sizes — you will know every student by name and have the time to actually shape how they learn.
- A genuine community — a collegial faculty, supportive leadership, and the chance to be part of a child’s entire educational journey from Prep K through Grade 12.
