Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in ensuring guests have a positive experience from the moment they arrive until they leave. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but a passion for guest service and strong communication skills are equally important. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for managing reservations, seating guests, and assisting with various front-of-house duties to support smooth restaurant operations.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly first impression
Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortable
Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings or inquiries
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting area
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and feedback professionally
Assist in maintaining accurate seating charts and reservation logs
Support other front-of-house duties as needed to enhance guest experience

Experience

Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is preferred
Familiarity with food service operations and restaurant procedures
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Ability to remain organized, work efficiently under pressure, and prioritize tasks during busy service periods
Knowledge of phone etiquette and customer service best practices
Hotel or restaurant experience is advantageous but not required; a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn are essential
