What does a day look like in your role?
As Legal Assistant (Administrative/Marketing Support) your main role will be to provide legal assistant support for a general law practice, covering both solicitors and barristers work. We cover civil litigation, estates, corporate, real estate, immigration matters. This would include working on legal documents, letters, answering phones, serving clients, keeping records and monitoring time sensitive matters and appointments, some accounting,
In your administrative/marketing support you will be providing support in both social media marketing and event planning for affiliated organizations.
Please note that this position is for approx. 2 - 3 days per week only. It would also entail some later times in the day for some events. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are a mandatory available day and you must have a car and driver's licence for BC. You must live in Victoria, BC.

- Preferred - strong academic records in the top 25% of your class, supported by transcripts
- Superior and accurate keyboarding skills

- Multi – tasking ability a must
- Proficient with internet research
- Good telephone answering skills
- Strong English in written and spoken form with superior grammar
- Must have superior intellect and must be fluent in English
- Superior social media skills in Facebook, instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube will be an asset
- Website editing/creation experience an asset
- Driver’s licence and car required
- Good event planning skills would also be an asset
- An entrepreneurial spirit is also an asset as we work on numerous business and event projects from time to time
- If you are fluent in Mandarin that would be an asset (Cantonese is good also).
Must have a bachelors degree minimum and one year of office or hospitality experience. Or equivalent work experience related to the position will be considered.
This will be either an independent contract position or employment depending on the applicant and will require a minimum year commitment after a probation period of 3 months.
