Victoria Contracting is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator with previous experience working in underground utility or civil construction industry. In this role, you will assist in the completion of projects, and guide processes and employees in the absence of leaders.
Responsibilities
· Operates equipment (excavators, skid steers, backhoes) and lifts heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), as required.
· Reads underground utility locates and ensures safe digging practices are always being adhered to
· Assists in restoring job sites back to their original state.
· Maintains a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, the public, the customer, and Victoria Contracting.
· May perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment in the Civil Construction preferred
- Must have prior experience digging around existing underground utilities
- Class 5 driver's license
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
- Knowledge of Sewer/Storm/Water Works
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage
- Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques
- Ability to operate Excavators, Backhoes, Skid Steers and other heavy equipment
- Strong attention to detail
Work Conditions
· Some travel will be required to site and/or other office locations.
· Working outdoors in various weather conditions

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
