Job Overview

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
Support individuals in participating in community activities, recreational programs, and social outings to enhance their quality of life
Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document all medication-related activities accurately
Use effective communication techniques to ensure clear understanding and meaningful interactions
Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, preferences, and goals in collaboration with families and healthcare professionals
Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster confidence and positive self-esteem among clients
Maintain detailed records of support provided, incidents, and progress notes to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in caregiving roles is highly valued
Knowledge of special education principles or training is a strong asset
Strong communication skills to engage with clients, families, and team members confidently and empathetically
Ability to administer medications safely following prescribed instructions and documentation protocols
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support independence and inclusion for people with disabilities
Relevant certifications or training in caregiving or disability support are advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing training will be provided
