Title: Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster
Position Open To: Internal and External Applicants
Posting Overview:
The Lambton Kent District School Board, serves more than 21,000 students in 50 elementary and 12 secondary schools across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.
Prospective qualified elementary teachers that meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply.
- must be available to start working immediately or once OCT has been processed;
- must be available to work a minimum of 3-5 days/week;
- must be available to work 10 months during the school year;
- must be willing to travel throughout Chatham-Kent and/or Sarnia-Lambton;
- must be available to work on a daily occasional basis;
- must be available to work on a last-minute, call-in basis.
Prospective candidates currently enrolled in teachers college are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will be expected to commence employment immediately or once they become OCT qualified (for new graduates/current students).

Qualifications/Experience:
- Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification;
- qualifications in French, Ojibwe or Lenape language are an asset;
- Special Education Part 1 is an asset;
- additional qualifications are an asset;
- knowledge of current curriculum directions;
- excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff;
- demonstrate positive interaction and collaboration as part of the school team;
- apply consistent and fair classroom management skills;
- ability to implement positive and progressive disciplinary practices;
- experience working with youth in a variety of settings;
- experience working with diverse cultures including First Nation, Métis, and Inuit;
- experience with current assessment, evaluation and reporting;
- ability to integrate technology into curriculum.
Compensation:
