Job Overview
We are hiring a Brake Press Operator for our Breslau, Ontario manufacturing team. The position includes setting up and operating a CNC brake press & shear, reading drawings, choose and changing tooling, forming parts, and helping to keep production moving safely and efficiently. The role also includes handling materials and using overhead cranes and forklifts. We are looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced shop.
Duties
- Set up and safe operation of CNC press brake
- Operate shear to cut sheet metal to specifications
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings
- Perform layout dimensions on materials as required
- Ability to select dies and set up tooling according to project requirements
- Knowledge of material grades and forming requirements pertaining to various grades
- Strong organization and time management skills / Ability to multitask
- Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbal and written
- Accuracy and attention to detail is imperative
- Material handling
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of press brake setup and operation experience
- Minimum 5 years of Shear operation experience
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Sound knowledge of programming CNC press brake controller
- Knowledge of sheet metal bending and forming
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments
- Reliable, punctual, and positive attitude
- Ability to work independent
- Experienced in operation of counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes
It is considered an asset to have the following experience:
- Experience with Ermaksan Speed bend Pro brake press
- Experience with Step Rock Automation 3D Press Brake controller
- Experience with Hypertherm Hi Definition plasma table
- Experience with plate roll operation
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
