Full job description

Located in the R.M. of St. Andrews, Manitoba, the St. Andrews Airport is approximately 10 minutes from Winnipeg’s North Perimeter Highway and 15 minutes from Selkirk, Manitoba. There is no public transportation available to the Airport, so private transportation is required.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the current Accounts Administrator and reporting to the Executive Director/APM, the position is responsible for all daily, monthly, and yearly accounting duties. General duties, but not restricted to, are A/R, A/P, invoicing, month-end and year-end entries, overseeing the yearly audit process, and assisting in the yearly budget preparation. This position also requires customer service and staff support, including Payroll and benefit administration. Attendance of both daytime and evening meetings is required. Board of Directors’ evening meetings are held at least once a month, and the Administrator is required to prepare meeting packages including financial statements, agenda, resolutions, discussion notes, and official minutes for each meeting.

Key Qualifications:

· Formal education in accounting procedures and/or several years of experience

· Proficiency in Sage or QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel Spreadsheets

· Working knowledge of Payroll (Payworks) and benefit administration (MEBP, BlueCross)

· Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

· Ability to work independently, self-organize, and work without supervision

· Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to respond to inquiries in a professional manner

· Certificate or enrolled in Municipal Administration (CMMA) would be an asset

Job Details:

This is a full-time position based on a 35-hour work week, Monday to Friday. The position does require attendance at monthly evening Board meetings. The starting wage is $30.57 per hour and will be increased based on performance after the probationary period, with a comprehensive municipal benefits package after completing a probationary period.
