Tumble City Athletics is looking for an experienced, certified gymnastics coach to join our growing team in Burnaby!
This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who loves working with children and wants to be part of the continued growth of our gymnastics program. Our current focus is Recreational and Pre-Competitive Gymnastics, with the goal of continuing to develop a strong pathway into a competitive program.
Coaching Opportunities
Depending on experience and availability, this position may include:
- Recreational Gymnastics – ages 1 through teen
- Pre-Competitive Gymnastics
- Private Lessons
- Workshops and specialty programs
Optional:
- Tumbling for Cheerleaders
- Birthday Parties
- Field Trips
- Pro-D Day Camps
- Spring, Summer & Winter Break Camps
The position can be split between multiple staff or combined into a larger role for the right candidate.
What You'll Do
- Coach engaging, structured recreational and pre-competitive gymnastics classes
- Teach safe and appropriate skill progressions on floor, beam and bars
- Teach tumbling skills and progressions
- Safely spot athletes according to their skill level and development
- Create a positive environment where athletes build confidence and skills
- Deliver organized and engaging lesson plans
- Communicate professionally with athletes, parents and fellow staff
- Work collaboratively with our gymnastics, cheerleading and parkour departments
- Help maintain a safe, organized and positive training environment
- Potentially support camps, parties, field trips, workshops and private lessons
Bonus: Experience coaching power tumbling is an asset!
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Gymnastics BC/NCCP certification appropriate to the programs being coached
- Current First Aid/CPR (or in progress)
- Strong gymnastics knowledge and spotting skills
- Strong understanding of safe skill progressions
- Experience coaching recreational gymnastics and/or pre-competitive athletes
- Criminal Record Check
- Availability to work evenings and/or weekends

Compensation
- Recreational & Pre-Competitive Coaching: $25–$30/hour, depending on certification and experience
- Private Lessons and specialty workshops: $45/hour
- Camps, Parties & Special Events: $20–$25/hour, depending on role and experience
Additional hours may be available during Spring Break, Summer Break, Winter Break and Pro-D Days, with the potential for significantly increased hours during camp seasons.

Tumble City Athletics is a busy multi-sport facility in Burnaby offering Gymnastics, Tumbling, Parkour and Cheerleading programs for children and youth.

Experience:
- Gymnastics Coaching: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
