Overview: The Safety & Administrative Coordinator will maintain a primary focus on company-wide safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements while providing administrative support across operations, HR, and leadership to ensure efficient flow of daily business functions.
Duties: Including but not limited to;
- Maintain safety, compliance, employee, and company documentation.
- Provide support for onboarding processes and certification tracking/renewals.
- Assist with e-log support, regulatory and vehicle compliance documentation.
- Monitor safety trends, identify patterns, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote participation in safety programs and help foster a positive safety culture.
- Respond to internal and external safety-related inquiries.
- Coordinate WCB claims, modified duties, and return-to-work programs.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and record keeping.
- Provide administrative support to Operations, HR, and Leadership teams.
- Assist with document control, creation, data entry, and record management.
- Perform other administrative duties and special projects as required.
- Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and reviews.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Understand and lead the COR internal audit process and host the External Auditors (Energy Safety Canada COR Certification and auditing experience is an advantage) in completing scheduled audits.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education (completed or in progress) in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience in the transportation industry with an understanding of driving regulations, electronic driving logs and hours of service rules an asset.
- 3 years experience in an administrative or related role.
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong willingness to help and support the team.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and administrative skills.
- Self motivated and capable of managing responsibilities independently.
- Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, team oriented approach.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques.
- Proficiency in computer functions including MS Office.
