We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support our client's manufacturing operations near Mayerthorpe, AB.

Pay - Upto $90k

Key Responsibilities:

Design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for printing and converting equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Develop and modify PLC logic, HMI screens, and control system documentation.
Commission new machinery, automation systems, and production equipment.
Optimize machine performance by improving cycle times, reliability, and production efficiency.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities for automation systems.
Configure and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, motion control systems, sensors, and industrial networks.
Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to implement process improvements.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, machine safety regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate documentation for software revisions, electrical drawings, and system backups.
Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and capital improvement projects.
Provide technical support and training to maintenance technicians and production personnel.

Qualifications:

Engineering Degree in Process Control, Electrical, Automation, or a related field.
APEGA P.Eng. designation or eligibility to obtain it.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a process manufacturing environment; pulp and paper industry experience is an asset.
Experience with Real-Time Optimization (RTO), Artificial Intelligence (AI), or Machine Learning (ML) is an asset.
Knowledge of Alarm Management, High-Performance HMI, and Abnormal Situation Management (ASM) principles.
Understanding of OT/IT best practices and industrial automation cybersecurity.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, Profibus, and Profinet.
Experience with historian systems (OSI PI, MOPS, DataPark), virtualization, and TCP/IP networking is an asset.
Hands-on experience with DCS and PLC systems.
