Overview
Green PI Inc. is seeking to provide a Knowledge-Based (KBE) Fuel Systems Engineer for its client. The role will support advanced automotive design and engineering activities by creating CATIA/NX parametric CAD models, developing Knowledge-Based Engineering templates, and integrating fuel systems, cooling systems, air induction, and flexible component requirements into automated CAD design processes. The position requires strong technical capability in CAD modeling, vehicle systems packaging, design automation, and cross-functional engineering coordination.
Contract Term: This is a long-term contract position.
**Work Location: On-site at Windsor, ON with some travel to the US. The candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to cross the Canada-U.S. border for occasional business travel, , including possessing or being able to obtain any required travel documentation.**
Responsibilities
- Create CAD parametric math models for vehicle commodities using CATIA and/or Siemens NX.
- Apply Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) template modeling techniques to support advanced vehicle design and development.
- Develop, package, and synthesize complex vehicle systems within CAD environments.
- Define CAD model architecture, construction techniques, and template modeling structures.
- Create master development sections, packaging sections, and requirement sections for vehicle systems.
- Develop and maintain KBE design templates, analysis templates, and CAD requirements as standards change.
- Update and apply parameters and standards for specific engine systems and integrate them into CAD design templates.
- Support advanced design activities for fuel tanks, cooling bottles/reservoirs, and air induction systems.
- Perform conceptual design and parametric studies for air induction systems while meeting functional design targets.
- Generate initial fuel tank and cooling reservoir designs that meet design and performance requirements.
- Perform or support system-specific performance analysis for fuel, cooling, and air induction components.
- Support flexible parts analysis and develop deformed shape envelopes using advanced methods.
- Simulate and generate routing optimization studies for flexible components such as cooling hoses, HVAC hoses, brake hoses, steering hoses, low-voltage/high-voltage wiring, and convolutes.
- Apply associative parametric modeling techniques to improve design automation and model efficiency.
- Develop CAD modeling automation capabilities using NX design templates.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking studies to support design improvement and validation.
- Apply design-for-manufacturing best practices and engineering guidelines during design development.
- Supervise or support testing activities for assigned systems, as required.
- Train other CATIA/NX engineers on KBE modeling techniques, CAD architecture, template modeling, and construction methods.
