Hours & Flexibility
Our standard work week (with flexibility) is Monday–Friday, 8:30–4:30, except from February–April, 8:30–5:00.
Enjoy a 4-day work week in July & August (Fridays off).
This position is full-time, but flexible or reduced hours will be considered for the right candidate.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are adding a Senior Bookkeeper/ Bookkeeping Manager to our team.
Working closely with the firm’s partners, managers, and staff, you will:
- Manage monthly and quarterly full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of small to mid-sized, owner-managed clients
- Prepare and file HST returns and related government remittances
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
- Communicate directly with clients, including business owners, to obtain information, resolve issues, and explain bookkeeping and reporting matters in a professional, clear manner
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with occasional administrative and other related tasks as needed
What You Bring
- Minimum 8 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public practice / multi-client environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines independently
- Advanced experience with Sage and QuickBooks (both desktop and online versions)
- Strong understanding of small business bookkeeping best practices
- Up-to-date with modern bookkeeping technology and cloud-based tools, and comfortable learning new software
