Venor is proud to partner with Nautel in their search for an Accountant to join their team in Hacketts Cove, NS.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will support core accounting operations across multiple legal entities. This role offers a high degree of autonomy in day-to-day responsibilities while working closely with the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Process day-to-day accounting transactions across multiple legal entities
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Act as backup for payroll processing
Manage foreign currency transactions, revaluations, and basic currency reconciliations
Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting schedules for multiple companies
Assist with month-end and year-end close, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, inter-company balances, and control accounts
Support inter-company billing and reconciliations
Prepare documentation to support internal controls and audit requirements
Assist with sales tax, HST, and other statutory reporting across jurisdictions as required
Respond to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner
Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems

What You Bring

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, with exposure to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting functions.
Solid understanding of invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and payroll processing in an operational environment.
Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with ERP or CRM systems, with the ability to work effectively with detailed financial reports and reconciliations.
Exposure to manufacturing, multi-location, or international environments is an asset.
A disciplined, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and escalate complex or non-routine issues when appropriate.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Sound analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
