Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a vital part of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within the food industry and hospitality sector.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
Coordinate food service activities during meal periods, including serving and plating dishes efficiently
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure adherence to company standards
Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and innovation to enhance culinary offerings
Monitor sanitation procedures and enforce health regulations across the kitchen team

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment, ideally as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry standards
Extensive restaurant management experience with knowledge of kitchen operations and team management
Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper handling procedures
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Solid understanding of hospitality principles and customer service excellence
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Prior restaurant experience is preferred; hands-on kitchen experience is essential
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork and serving guests effectively
