Position Summary
The Duty Staff provides direct supervision, structure, safety oversight, and practical daily support to clients within the in-residents program. This role helps maintain a safe, respectful, consistent, and healthy recovery environment while supporting the daily operations of the campus.
Key Responsibilities
Client Supervision & Support
- Supervise clients and maintain program structure throughout shifts
- Encourage healthy routines, participation, accountability, and respectful behaviour
- Observe and report behavioural, emotional, or safety concerns
Program Support
- Support daily structure, schedules, activities, transportation, and events as needed
- Assist with maintaining a safe, respectful, and healthy recovery environment
- Support fundraising and financial revenue sources
- Assist with outreaches and off campus outings and events
- Participation with students in work detail
- Assist with the facilitation of support groups
Environment
- Conduct room checks, facility checks, and shift responsibilities
- Assist with medication procedures as applicable
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, or crises
- Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall campus safety
Daily Operations
- Assist with classes, meals, transportation, chores, work details, and program activities
- Support schedule transitions and daily campus flow
- Assist with setup, cleaning, and general operational support
- Can we add cooking and kitchen management
Documentation & Communication
- Complete shift logs, incident reports, and communication updates accurately
- Maintain clear communication with staff teams regarding client concerns and program needs
- Assist with other administrative request as directed
Spiritual Leadership
- Live as an example to the clients in daily behaviour and actions
- Model Christ-centered leadership and healthy spiritual maturity
- Foster an environment of discipleship, prayer, restoration, and personal growth
- Support chapel services, devotions, outreach opportunities, and spiritual mentorship
Additional Responsibilities
Kitchen Management
Provides oversight and support to ensure the kitchen operates in a safe, organized, efficient, and excellent manner while creating meaningful vocational and life-skills learning opportunities for clients.
- Assist in ensuring the kitchen operates with excellence, cleanliness, and organization
- Support meal planning, food preparation schedules, and kitchen coordination
- Ensure food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling standards are consistently maintained
- Monitor food inventory, storage practices, and kitchen cleanliness
- Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable health and safety regulations
- Support and oversee clients participating in kitchen responsibilities and vocational training
- Assist clients in obtaining Food Handler certifications where applicable
- Help create a positive, respectful, and structured kitchen environment
- Communicate kitchen needs, concerns, or supply shortages to leadership
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Credentials
- Education in addiction services, ministry, social work or other relevant fields is considered an asset
- Experience in recovery, ministry, mentoring, or residential care is an asset
- Valid driver’s licence maybe be required
- Current First Aid Certification considered an asset
- Safe food handling certificate required
- Experience in kitchen operations, food service, or meal coordination is an asset
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Vulnerable Sector Clearance

Work Environment
- Working with individuals in addiction and recovery
- Work in a commercial style kitchen
- Travel may be required to other locations or within the community for work purposes
