Are you our next BIM Manager (CAD/Revit)?
SMS Engineering is seeking an experienced BIM Manager to lead and oversee our CAD and Revit operations across mechanical and electrical disciplines. This role is responsible for developing BIM standards, managing project coordination workflows, and ensuring high-quality digital deliverables.
The ideal candidate can provide strategic leadership in digital transformation, supports the CAD/Revit team, and represents the organization within the broader BIM community.
Key Responsibilities:
- BIM Standards & Governance: Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide CAD and Revit standards, templates, and execution plans to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with industry and client requirements.
- Model Coordination & QA/QC: Lead model coordination, clash detection, and quality control processes, including establishing LOD standards and ensuring high-quality BIM deliverables.
- Technology & Systems Management: Oversee BIM-related software, tools, and licensing (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Clarity) including plugin management and collaboration with IT and project teams.
- Training & Support: Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to staff at all skill levels; act as the primary resource for BIM-related guidance across the organization.
- Project & Collaboration Support: Support project teams with BIM execution and coordination while managing digital collaboration platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Data & Content Management: Maintain model integrity, version control, and centralized Revit content libraries, including development and management of standard families and project data.
- Strategic Leadership: Drive BIM innovation and digital transformation initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies, and support integration of BIM into business processes and client deliverables.
- Team Leadership & Recruitment: Supervise CAD/Revit team, support hiring efforts, and contribute to the growth and development of BIM capabilities within the organization.
What You Bring:
- Diploma or Degree in relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in BIM management, preferably in a consulting environment
- Advanced proficiency in Revit (MEP) and AutoCAD
- Development experience with Dynamo is an asset.
- Strong leadership and project coordination skills
- Excellent verbal, written and facilitation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
