Key Accountabilities
The successful applicant’s responsibilities in Finance will include, but not be limited to:
- Prepare cheques for vendors allowing ample time for management to review and sign same.
- Set up and maintain spreadsheets for vendors.
- Oversee and/or complete the function of matching, batching, coding and entering invoices to appropriate general ledger account including jobs, and phases of jobs sorting cost to job and amount of GST recoverable, spreadsheet invoices as required.
- Providing management with quick access to data, to aide in preventing cost overruns and to ensure single payments for services rendered.
- Provide assistance to other members of team when they are unsure of how to proceed in processing a transaction
- Researching and resolving accounts payable issues with vendors and involving supervisor prior to vendor problems escalating.
- Completion of vendor account reconciliations and charge backs
The successful applicant’s responsibilities in Inventory Management will include:
· Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across the organization.
· Prepare inventory reports and provide management with updates on inventory levels and trends.
· Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and make recommendations.
· Assist with forecasting inventory requirements and seasonal demand.
· Coordinate the receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of inventory.
· Create system generated purchase orders and receive product in system, confirm landed costs and reconcile to supplier invoice
· Set retail sale prices, label and barcode product for retail floor
· Conduct inventory analysis to determine optimal stock levels and inventory level accuracy
· Produce reports to evaluate operational and financial sales performance of the retail store
· Recommend improvements to inventory processes, systems, and procedures.
· Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and overages.
· Receive incoming products and verify quantities, quality, and documentation.
· Ensure inventory is properly labelled, organized, and stored.
· Coordinate with suppliers regarding shortages, damaged goods, returns, and delivery issues.
· Special project work as needed.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 2 years of strong administration experience
2. Strong Finance / bookkeeping education / background
3. Experience in Logistics and Supply Chain education / background
4. Demonstrated proficiency in written/oral communication (writing, planning, editing, formatting) in the English language
5. Must have high degree of computer literacy in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
6. Strong keyboarding skills (min of 40 WPM)
7. Knowledge and understanding of a retail environment.
