Full job description

Overview

We are hiring two journeyperson plumbers. Straightforward roles, steady work, focus on doing the job right and teaching apprentices.

Role 1 – Site-Based Contract Plumber

Long-term contract at one client site with lots of different plumbing and mechanical systems.
Mix of troubleshooting, repairs and small projects on varied equipment with a solid, reasonable client. We have a plan for a 18 month transition- the current plumber is retiring aft 15 years.
Journeyperson plumber with B gas ticket and backflow licence preferred. Small projects and service. Some project will call on other journemen plumbers.
You work mostly on your own, deal with the client directly and keep the systems running properly.
You take apprentices with you, show them how to do things correctly and safely, and expect them to keep up.

Role 2 – Commercial & Residential Service Plumber

Service work in both commercial and residential: leak calls, repairs, fixture replacements, hot water, small renos and maintenance.
Every day is different: shops, restaurants, offices, houses and small projects.
Journeyperson plumber with B gas ticket and backflow licence preferred, strong service background an asset.
You handle customers on site, explain the work, price changes when needed and close out jobs cleanly.
You run with an apprentice often, set the pace, teach them, and make sure the finished work is something you are willing to sign your name to.

What We Are Looking For

1 )Journeyperson ticket, valid driver’s licence and good driving record. Lots of work for Feds and other sites where security clearance required. Need clean criminal record and able to get RCMP clearance.
2) Comfortable with commercial mechanical rooms, pumps, boilers, water heaters and typical building systems. Want to learn.
3) Able to read drawings, follow code and use basic mobile/service software without issues.
4) Shows up, solves problems, looks after the apprentice and leaves the job in better shape than they found it.

Stong backup from office. Good dispatchers and team. Service Manager understands the real world.

Pay: $44.15-$48.00 per hour
