Located on the scenic waterfront in North Vancouver, Bodwell High School is a university-preparatory boarding and day school for Grades 8–12. We are seeking an energetic, community-minded individual to join this environment in a live-in leadership role supporting after-class/weekend recreation and student life.
About the Role
The Live-In Boarding & Student Life / Recreation Coordinator is a visible and active leader within our boarding community. This role blends recreation programming, student engagement, and boarding supervision, with opportunities to grow into expanded leadership responsibilities over time.
During the academic year, the focus is on building community, facilitating recreation, and supporting daily boarding life. During the summer months, the campus transforms into an international summer program, where the role expands into larger-scale program leadership and operations.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys working with youth, thrives in an active environment, and wants to build a long-term career in student life, recreation, or education leadership.
The successful candidate is fluent in English, holds a degree or diploma, and brings outstanding interpersonal skills. They are energetic, highly organized, and a clear communicator who works well as part of a team. With experience in planning and delivering programs, they are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and remain effective under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
A. Academic Year – Student Life & Recreation
a. Support a safe, positive, and engaging boarding environment
b. Plan and facilitate recreational, social, and wellness activities
c. Encourage student participation and community culture
d. Assist with events and student-life initiatives
e. Support residence routines and supervision
f. Provide leadership and guidance to boarding staff
B. Summer Programs – Expanded Leadership
a. Coordinate and oversee recreation programming and outings
b. Support daily operations across multiple program areas
c. Act as a key support person for students, staff, and families
d. Work closely with program leadership to enhance student experience
e. Take an active role in staff supervision and daily programming
f. Work extended and flexible hours during program delivery periods
