Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience working on trucks, heavy equipment, or both, and must be willing to work on a wide variety of equipment as business demands require.
At Antler Point Heavy Duty, we service both on-road and off-road equipment and are looking for team members who enjoy variety and are willing to expand their skillset across multiple industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and a wide variety of customer equipment both in the shop and in the field.
This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality repairs that keep our customers operating.
We are looking for someone who enjoys challenging work, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and wants to continue learning and growing throughout their career.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic failures
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause diagnostics
- Complete engine, transmission, hydraulic, driveline, and component rebuilds
- Repair and maintain diesel engines and emissions systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including wiring, sensors, controllers, and CAN networks
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tooling
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and technician notes
- Operate and maintain service trucks when performing field service work
- Mentor and assist apprentices
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Red Seal Certification preferred
- 3rd and 4th Year Heavy Duty Apprentices will be considered
- Strong diagnostic abilities
- Experience with heavy trucks, heavy equipment, or both
- Willingness to work on both on-road and off-road equipment
- CVIP License considered an asset
- Service truck experience considered an asset
- Strong hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine troubleshooting skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
