ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This role reports to Associate Dean or designate.
SUMMARY
The Faculty of Arts invites applications from the KPU Entertainment Arts Alumni or current Entertainment Arts students for 1-4 positions as Artist in Residence.
These residencies will work on projects initiated by KPU groups the KPU Creative Lab and collaborate with current Entertainment Arts students in creating content to develop, promote, and communicate the identified projects led by faculty. They will help contribute materials and assets to projects, attend meetings, and complete work as assigned related to the KPU Creative Lab.
Working schedules for the Artist(s) in Residence may be flexible over the course of the project durations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend weekly planning sessions with the faculty project lead as required
Assist and elicit support from members to scope, plan, and execute their projects
Work on assigned topics and tasks within the scope of the projects
Provide/receive feedback to and from their project members
Adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the university
Establish and maintain effective relationships with administrators, peers, support staff, students and the community at large
Participate in scheduled meetings and appropriate university-related activities as requested by the Dean or designate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Demonstrable familiarity and experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
3D Animation/3D Modelling
VFX
Game Development
Graduated or current student from KPU Entertainment Arts Advanced VFX Program, Advanced 3D Animation and 3D Modelling Program, or Game Development Program
Experience working in the industry and with students is advantageous
Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret and apply university, government, agency and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines
Ability to exercise a high level of initiative and responsibility
Ability to use tact and discretion to deal with or settle complex requests Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
SALARY INFORMATION
Anticipated hourly pay rate: $45.00
