Maxcraft Avionics Ltd. is seeking both experienced Instrument Overhaul & Repair Mechanics / Avionics Bench Technicians and experienced apprentices to join our growing team in Pitt Meadows, BC.
In this role, you'll work on a diverse range of aircraft instruments and avionics equipment, applying your technical expertise and troubleshooting skills to help ensure the reliability and safety of aircraft.

What You'll Work On
You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test aircraft instruments and electronic equipment, including but not limited to:
- Directional Gyros
- Artificial Horizon & Turn and Bank Instruments
- Altimeters
- Airspeed Indicators
- Engine monitoring Instruments and gauges
- Various pneumatic, electrical, and electro-mechanical aircraft instruments
- Aviation Headsets
- Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs)
- Avionics components for Navigation, Communication and Flight Control Systems
- Aircraft Surveillance and Weather Radar Systems
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot instrument and avionics component failures
- Perform bench-level repairs, overhauls, and functional testing
- Calibrate instruments and electronic assemblies to manufacturer specifications
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures
- Use electrical test equipment and precision measuring tools
- Perform soldering, wiring, assembly, and disassembly of components
- Document repair findings and completed work accurately
- Maintain quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals
Qualifications
Experienced Instrument Overhaul & Repair Mechanics / Avionic Bench Technicians
Required Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory, AM/FM radio communication principles and digital electronics
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Experienced in repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, or calibrating aircraft instruments or avionics equipment
- Understanding of instrumentation systems and principles
- Experience with:
- Electrical wiring
- Soldering through hole and surface mount device components
- Automation and Control systems
- Radio and Navigation Communication systems
- Electronics diagnostics

Experienced Apprentices
We're also looking for motivated apprentices who already possess relevant technical experience and are eager to further develop their careers in avionics and aircraft instrument repair.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in electronics, electrical, instrumentation, automation, avionics, or a related technical trade
- Strong interest in aviation, aircraft systems, and instrument repair
- Demonstrated electro-mechanical aptitude
- Passion for physics and understanding how complex systems function
- Experienced in using hand tools and electronic test equipment
- Basic knowledge of:
- Instrumentation
- Calibration
- Electrical wiring
- Soldering
- Electronics troubleshooting

Experience:
