The Role
Banter Ice Cream is looking for a strategic, creative, and hands-on Marketing Manager to lead the growth and evolution of our brand across retail, digital, and community channels.
This is a hybrid position that combines the flexibility of working from home with regular in-person collaboration at our shops, events, and community activations. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing focused independent work with an active presence alongside our team and customers.
Working closely with leadership, operations, retail teams, and creative partners, you'll help shape how Banter shows up in the world. From product launches and content creation to partnerships and community engagement, you'll be responsible for ensuring a consistent and memorable brand experience across every customer touchpoint.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist and doer—someone who can develop marketing plans, execute campaigns, analyze results, and bring creative ideas to life while staying true to Banter's unique voice and personality.
Key ResponsibilitiesBrand Leadership & Strategy
- Champion and protect the Banter brand across all channels and customer experiences.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies that support growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
- Ensure consistency in brand messaging, visual identity, and storytelling across digital, retail, and event marketing.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and deepen customer loyalty.
- Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
Campaigns, Content & Product Marketing
- Lead marketing support for seasonal menu launches, new products, retail initiatives, and promotional campaigns.
- Develop go-to-market plans for product launches and key business initiatives.
- Create and manage marketing calendars that align with business priorities and seasonal opportunities.
- Oversee content development across social media, email marketing, website content, photography, video, and promotional materials.
- Coordinate campaign execution across multiple channels while maintaining quality and consistency.
Community & Customer Experience
- Build initiatives that strengthen customer relationships and community engagement.
- Collaborate with retail teams to create memorable in-store experiences and activations.
- Develop partnerships, collaborations, and event opportunities that increase brand visibility.
- Ensure all marketing efforts reflect the personality, values, and culture of Banter.
- Represent the brand within the local community and help foster meaningful connections.
Partnerships & Brand Growth
- Identify opportunities to expand Banter's reach through strategic partnerships and collaborations.
- Support community events, sponsorships, and local initiatives.
- Develop campaigns and marketing materials that drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Help uncover new opportunities for growth and customer engagement.
Marketing Operations & Performance
- Manage marketing projects from planning through execution.
- Coordinate external vendors, photographers, designers, agencies, and creative partners.
- Track campaign performance, customer engagement, and key marketing metrics.
- Analyze results and recommend improvements based on data and customer insights.
- Manage marketing budgets and ensure effective use of resources.
QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, brand management, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, content marketing, and digital marketing.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication, writing, and storytelling abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- A genuine sense of humour and appreciation for brands that don't take themselves too seriously.
- Comfortable occasionally appearing in social media content, participating in events and activations, and eating ice cream in the name of market research.
Preferred
- Experience in food & beverage, hospitality, retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or lifestyle brands.
- Experience managing social media, email marketing, and content creation.
- Experience building community partnerships and brand engagement initiatives.
- Photography, design, videography, or creative direction experience is considered an asset.
- Passion for food, hospitality, community-building, and creating memorable customer experiences.
