The Coordinator, Athletic Events oversees the operations of all Athletics varsity game days and department events. In partnership with other department events coordinator, they are responsible for the development and planning of a comprehensive varsity game day plan for hosting all varsity game days including Canada West tournaments, regular season, exhibition and post-season athletics games and special events.
- Certificate in sport administration or equivalent from a recognized institution
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in a post-secondary athletics environment
- Knowledge of the post-secondary sport system in BC and Canada (PACWEST/CW/CCAA/USPORTS)
- Experience in the supervision of staff
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage time.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and crisis management skills.
- Computer skills using MS Office
- Knowledge of or experience with STATCREW/PRESTO/VOLLEYMETRICS, video
- streaming and web-based communications are necessary.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
