Full job description

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Gas Station Attendant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys assisting customers, processing sales transactions, supporting food service operations, and contributing to the daily success of the store.

The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and organized store, assist with inventory and grocery purchasing, and support basic food preparation when required. Training will be provided where needed.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional, and efficient service.
Accurately process customer purchases using the POS system.
Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions responsibly.
Recommend products and promote current specials to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
Answer customer questions in person and over the phone.
Keep shelves, displays, refrigerators, counters, and work areas clean and organized.
Restock merchandise and ensure products are properly displayed.
Assist with inventory counts, organization, and stock management.
Support basic food preparation and kitchen duties while following food-safety standards.
Purchase groceries and other store supplies using company-approved procedures.
Safely transport purchased groceries and supplies to the store.
Assist with unloading, organizing, and stocking deliveries and purchased supplies.
Follow all company policies, operational procedures, and workplace-safety guidelines.
Work collaboratively with other team members while also being capable of working independently.

Qualifications

Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Comfortable handling cash, operating POS systems, and performing basic calculations.
Able to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, responsible, and professional.
Able to lift and carry products, groceries, and supplies as required.
A valid Class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent is mandatory.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a gas station, convenience store, retail environment, or customer-service position.
ProServe Certification is considered an asset.
Food Handling Certification is considered an asset. Candidates without this certification are welcome to apply, as training may be provided.
Previous food-preparation or kitchen experience.
Ability to communicate in multiple languages is considered an asset.
