To support this goal, the Peace River Mental Health and Addiction department has an exciting opportunity for an Menta Health Therapist Child/Youth and Adult. In this role, you will provide mental health assessment, treatment, case coordination, crisis intervention & consultation to adults experiencing psychological, emotional, social, substance misuse or behavioral difficulties. This position may also facilitate groups &/or Walk-In sessions within the Mental Health and Addiction Service portfolio. The therapist works as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing services within the clinic setting as well as working collaboratively with community partners. To be successful in this role, you will have strong organization skills and thrive on being self-directed in your work. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Recovery Alberta currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
This position requires candidates must have full CAP or provisional registration; Social Workers must be on the General Registry with the ACSW and has the Practice Enhancements: Authorization to Perform Restricted Psychosocial Interventions
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of local Indigenous communities and experience in Indigenous culture. Understanding the politically sensitive nature of working with multiple culturally diverse individuals and groups.
