Full job description

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Manager, Construction to join a growing national real estate organization. Reporting to a senior facilities leader, this role is responsible for managing capital improvement projects across a portfolio of properties throughout Canada.

The successful candidate will oversee projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality execution, budget adherence, stakeholder communication, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Travel throughout Canada to manage capital improvement and construction projects
Oversee interior and exterior building projects, including, building envelope, structural components, HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, roofing, parking structures,
Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution activities.
Develop scopes of work and coordinate contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Manage tendering and procurement processes, including RFP development, bid evaluation, and contract administration.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, consultants, and service providers.
Collaborate closely with teams to align project priorities and timelines.
Monitor project budgets, prepare forecasts,
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Maintain project documentation, records, permits, drawings, and correspondence.
Coordinate and oversee project resources to ensure efficient and successful project delivery.
Provide regular updates and reporting to leadership and key stakeholders.
Perform other project and facilities-related duties as required.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum three years of experience in project management, construction, facilities management, property management, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, building systems, and capital project execution.
Experience managing contractors, procurement processes, and project budgets.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
PMP designation or equivalent project management certification is considered an asset.
Financial acumen, including experience managing capital budgets and interpreting financial reports.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Valid driver's license and ability to provide a satisfactory criminal background check.
