Specialist, Staffing, Edmonton
Location and Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Superintendent, Staffing, this position will be based in Edmonton, AB.
Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate assessment, reference checks, offer support, and onboarding handoff.- Partner with hiring leaders to confirm workforce requirements, refine job descriptions, develop sourcing strategies, and support timely hiring decisions aligned with operational needs.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant data within recruitment and Human Resources systems, ensuring data integrity, workflow consistency, and appropriate documentation.
- Develop and maintain candidate pipelines through job postings, direct sourcing, referrals, community outreach, and targeted recruitment initiatives, including Inuit recruitment priorities.
- Monitor recruitment activity, hiring progress, time-to-fill, candidate flow, and related staffing metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes, candidate communication, hiring leader practices, system use, and staffing administration to improve efficiency and service quality.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
Five (5) years of progressive experience in full-cycle recruitment, talent acquisition, staffing, or human resources, preferably in a high-volume, industrial, mining, remote operations, or resource-based environment.- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, completed or in progress, is considered an asset.
- Strong sourcing, interviewing, stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills, with proficiency using Applicant Tracking Systems, Human Resources Information Systems, recruitment data, and Microsoft Office.
