Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Windscreen Technician to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing windshields and other automotive glass components with precision and care. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience or mechanic background is highly desirable to ensure quality service and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Remove damaged or broken windshields using appropriate hand tools and power tools
- Install new windshields and glass components according to manufacturer specifications
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues with automotive glass and related components
- Perform repairs on minor chips or cracks when applicable
- Utilize heavy lifting techniques to handle large or heavy glass parts safely
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards and quality control measures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Assist with other automotive repair tasks as needed, leveraging mechanical knowledge and experience
Skills
- Dealership experience or extensive automotive repair background preferred
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in handling hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment
- Experience working with automotive glass installation or repair is highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
- Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and manual dexterity
- Prior mechanic experience is beneficial for understanding vehicle structures and systems
Pay: $15.84-$23.02 per hour
