Full job description

Position: Human Resources Director

Department: Administration

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Blue Sky Opportunities, a non-profit agency providing supports for adults living with cognitive and physical limitations is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Executive Director.

The HR Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of Human Resources, with a strong focus on employee development, work place health and safety and continued organizational change. This role is well-suited to an HR leader who is passionate about mission-driven work with tangible community impact while maintaining a people-first approach.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall HR function, including staffing, strategy, operations and team leadership
Oversee the health and safety program
Review, develop and implement HR policies and procedures
Provide leadership in employee development and relations
Administrative functions such as data input, benefit enrollment, file maintenance
Drive employee communication, engagement and support initiatives
Coordinate and track training, development and learning programs
Lead and support change management, continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives
Work closely with the executive director providing information and supporting decisions

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience in non-profit, social services, health care and community-based organizations is preferred
Post secondary education in human resources with CPHR or candidate status working toward certification
Minimum 2 years generalist experience
Experience with health and safety programs
Experience supporting shift based and frontline workforce
Demonstrated success in change management and organizational development
High level of emotional intelligence and sound judgement
Supportive, dedicated, non-judgmental with a desire to see people succeed
Passion for people centered work
Collaborative leadership style with strong communication skills
Willing to respond to agency needs outside of regular working hours

This position is full time permanent with an agency paid health benefit package, an agency matched pension plan, paid sick time and flexibility for work-life balance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for meaningful work that contributes to the
