Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team at Namaste Bistro Sackville in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring food safety standards are met and that the kitchen operates smoothly during busy service hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, with experience or interest in food handling, meal preparation, and restaurant operations.

Responsibilities

Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and preparing simple meals under supervision
Support the kitchen staff with meal assembly and plating as needed
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, floors, and storage areas in compliance with food safety standards
Help with restocking supplies and organizing storage areas to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold hygiene and safety regulations
Assist in waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain a sanitary environment

Requirements

Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
Basic cooking skills or interest in developing culinary knowledge is a plus
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks effectively
