Full job description

Assistant Hotel Manager

Location: Amherst, Nova Scotia
Job Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a motivated and dependable Assistant Hotel Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily hotel operations, provide excellent guest service, and support the front desk and housekeeping teams.

Responsibilities

Assist the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the hotel
Supervise and support front desk and housekeeping staff
Ensure guests receive friendly, professional, and efficient service
Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly
Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance management
Monitor room cleanliness, hotel standards, and overall guest satisfaction
Assist with check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and front desk duties when required
Help maintain hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards
Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies
Complete administrative tasks, reports, and other duties as required
Act as a manager on duty on Weekends and when the General Manager is unavailable

Qualifications

Previous hotel or hospitality management experience a must
Strong customer service and communication skills
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Professional, positive, and dependable attitude
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Previous front desk experience is an asset
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
