We are seeking energetic, motivated, and safety-conscious individuals to fulfill a role in our Installation and Fabrication Department, working on exciting projects based out of Amherst, Nova Scotia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install a wide variety of interior and exterior signage, including illuminated and non-illuminated signs
- Operate aerial work platforms (AWPs), ladders, and fall protection systems safely
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards and client specifications
- Comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations; wear all required personal protective equipment, comply with internal company policies
- Support company 5S and lean initiatives
- Report any issues to the Production Supervisor or Project Manager
- Load, transport, and unload signage and materials safely
- Proficient with metal working, pneumatic, hand, and power tools
- Read and interpret site drawings, permits, and installation instructions
- Perform site assessments when required
- Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results
- Check machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality
- Keep work space clean
- Maintain proper training, tools, and materials to carry out your duties
- Low voltage wiring and testing
- Represent the company professionally on job sites
- Understand quality and production within company specifications, goals, and objectives.
- Assist with fabrication when required
- Set up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs
- Ensure CNC machines operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company
- Check Machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality
- Prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as needed.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting finished work for consistency and adherence to specifications.
- Organize and maintain inventory of paints, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Participate in toolbox meetings.
- Participate in continuous improvement.
Some overnight travel and after-hours work may be required depending on project schedules.

- Valid AWP (Aerial Work Platform) Certification - $50.79
- MELP Certification required - $200.00
- SSIT Certification required - $525.00
- Fall Protection required - $54.95
- Sign Installer License $100
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Clean driving abstract and valid driver’s license required
- Comfortable working at heights
- Experience using powered hand tools
- Ability to read tape measures and complete basic math calculations
- Ability to read blueprints and site drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous sign installation experience preferred
- Must possess basic computer operation skills, ability to complete basic math and read a tape measure
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Good computer skills - V CARVE experience preferred
- Great attention to detail
- Experience with CNC Machining preferred
- Ability to translate mechanical documents and engineering drawings, such as blueprints
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Knowledge of different painting techniques and materials
- Proficient in using basic computer applications for inventory management and reporting.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work in environments without controlled temperatures

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is an on-premise position; daily commuting to our Amherst, NS location is required.
JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent WAGE: $18 to $24 per hour plus overtime (based on experience and certifications)SCHEDULE: Day shift Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (traveling to job site, after-hours and occasional overnight work may be required)
