Our client, a well-established and growing public accounting firm, is seeking an Accountant to join their close-knit team in Antigonish, NS. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional to join a growing firm, work closely with clients, and take on increasing responsibility within a supportive and collaborative environment

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

Prepare compilation engagements for a variety of clients
Complete bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns
Prepare financial statements and supporting working papers
Communicate with clients to address accounting and tax-related inquiries
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
Support and mentor junior team members as needed
Contribute to the tax function and help manage workflow during busy periods
Stay current with accounting standards and tax legislation

Experience & Attributes for Success:

CPA designation required, and the ability to complete Compilation Engagements
Approximately 3 - 5 years of public accounting experience
Previous experience leading or mentoring team members or overseeing tax work considered an asset
Proficiency with Sage, QuickBooks Online, and ProFile (Intuit) preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and client service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
