Full job description

Sparkling Hill Resort is seeking a Creative & Marketing Specialist to assist the Marketing department in promoting Sparkling Hill Resort & Spa.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of marketing experience, using a range of systems & software, and is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

The Creative & Marketing Specialist should have strong design skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity, whilst also supporting the more administrative side of marketing.

This role requires the candidate to work from Sparkling Hill Resort’s head office in Vernon, BC- no remote applicants will be considered for this role.

Core responsibilities & duties include, but are not limited to:

Visual Asset Production: Design original, high-performing graphics for paid ads, web layout, and print media.
Brand Stewardship: Maintain and scale company brand guidelines to ensure total visual consistency across all public-facing channels.
Print & Collateral Design: Create physical promotional materials including event signage, brochures, merchandise, packaging, and corporate sales decks.
Campaign Collaboration: Partner with the marketing team to brainstorm campaign themes, pairing your custom visuals with compelling copy.
Creative Optimization: Review basic design performance metrics to iteratively improve ad click-through rates and landing page conversions.
Answering telephone calls and responding to caller inquiries in a pleasant manner.
Coordinating internally with the Sales & Marketing team, as well as Gift Shop & the Food & Beverage departments for menus and catering collateral.
Monitoring, screening, responding to and distributing incoming communications via the shared Marketing inbox, including PR & media inquiries, general requests for information, and donation requests.
Supporting the Sales & Marketing team with the preparation of reports as needed.
Preparing sales-related documents for sales promotions & events, e.g. digital brochures, promotional materials, QR codes, enter to win sign-up forms etc.
Using design software to prepare hotel collateral such as a range of hotel stationary, posters and printed materials. Coordinating with department team members and printing vendors accordingly.
Creating static and animated digital ads for use on digital networks and social media advertising platforms.
Updating menus, latest offers, blog posts and listings on the website, using Wordpress CMS.
Organizing storage room and inventory (monthly), maintaining stock levels for all promotional items and merchandise, and assisting with the re-ordering of stock, including liaising with department heads and suppliers.
Supporting the marketing team with the preparation of email marketing content & databases.
Creating any gift certificates and fulfilling donation requests upon approval of management.
Managing photo libraries and optimizing images for use on the website and in other digital communications.
Maintaining & distributing the brand guidelines; upholding brand guidelines throughout the hotel communications.
Establishing strong relationships with vendors to ensure cost-savings and efficiencies.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
2+ years of professional graphic design and digital marketing experience
Very strong computer and digital platform skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and good file management skills
A diverse professional portfolio demonstrating mastery in typography, layout design, branding, and motion graphics is mandatory.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and website CMS software (e.g. Wordpress)
Strong understanding of ad creative specs and web design best practices (UI/UX)
Print Production: Knowledge of preparing files for commercial printing (bleed, slug, color profiles, CMYK).
Excellent customer service and communication skills; Ability to communicate with others using clear and professional language.
Ability to multi-task effectively and manage workload accordingly.
Strong time-management skills and ability to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures.
Ability to communicate fluently in English, in both written and verbal forms, with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
Friendly, customer-centric, enthusiastic and able to work in a team environment.
