Safety Supervisor

Job Summary

We are looking to hire a qualified, professional H2S Safety Supervisor for our Grande Prairie, Alberta location—to be accountable for ensuring that workers in hazardous or dangerous areas of our facilities are provided with the necessary service and equipment for maintaining a safe work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Orientating all personnel on the location of pertinent safety equipment
Reviewing and following all relevant SWP and procedures
Inspecting equipment at the beginning and end of each shift, as well as cleaning and servicing as necessary
Ensuring that equipment is in a safe and ready state, and available to complete that task for which it was designed
Seeing to it that tools and Inventory are properly stocked, and that inventory levels are adequate for meeting upcoming requirements
Communicating with the Operations Department on a regular basis, to make certain that all pertinent information is conveyed.
Responding in a professional and timely manner to all Operations’ requests
Confirming that any deficiencies are communicated to Operations
Reporting all safety incidents to Operations as soon as reasonably possible and verifying the accurate completion of all paperwork required for processing in a timely manner.
Ensuring compliance with all corporate, government, and industry regulations—as well as those according to other relevant certifying bodies
Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when required on the job
OH&S, COR, and DOT—to ensure you are not in violation of hours of service/log books, as per government regulations.

Confined Space/Rescue
Detection and Control of Flammable Substances
H2S Alive
CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems
Transportation of Dangerous Goods knowledge and experience
Standard First Aid Training
Experience with Benzene & Pump monitors
Experience with OTIS sensors (fixed gas detection units)
Experience with air regulators
SCBA and SABA units experience
Experience hitching and hauling trailers
Gas and Detection Control through Energy Safety Canada Certified an asset.
