Position Summary
The position of Laser Operator includes but is not limited to the programming and operation of laser cutting equipment, loading and unloading machines, routine maintenance and troubleshooting, and verifying completed parts against specifications using various measuring tools. This position reports to the Plant Manager or their designate.

Responsibilities
- Programming, setup, and operation of laser cutting equipment
- Load and unload machines
- Operate a forklift to move materials as required
- Interpret drawings to understand the specifics of the required parts
- Determine and acquire the required raw material to be used
- Verify completed part against specifications using measuring tape, etc.
- Perform all routine maintenance on machine
- Troubleshooting problems with laser cutting equipment
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the applicable health & safety act and PakFab policies
- Other assigned work as required
- Operates over head crane and use of forklift
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in laser and/or plasma cutting equipment an asset
- Preferably possess a valid driver’s license
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

- Experience troubleshooting problems with laser cutting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings

Work Conditions
- Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform somewhat strenuous physical labor at different times
- Use of personal protection equipment will be required
- Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs
