Job Summary:
We currently have an open position for a Formulation Technician to join our team on the day shift (7:00 am – 4:00 pm). This role is responsible for the operation of equipment, such as, but not limited to, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, mixers and scales, the unloading and loading of tankers into bulk tanks, formulating and blending of material based on strict procedures and instructions and the use of RF scanners to record production and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating various types of equipment such as centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, mixers, scales, hoists, pressure washers, etc.
- Unloading tankers into bulk tanks
- Loading out tankers
- Reading and understanding SDS sheets to ensure proper PPE is utilized
- Following strict blending instructions and procedures to ensure safe and accurate formulating
- Documenting batch records
- Using RF scanners to record production and inventory
- Performing quality inspections as needed
- Maintaining a clean and organized formulation area
- Understanding and troubleshooting equipment
- Line setup/change overs
- Performing limited site equipment maintenance as needed
- Ensure accurate inventory for bulk and equipment
- Other related duties as required or assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Adaptable and quick-thinking with the ability to learn quickly
- Ability to follow instructions and training provided
- Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills
- One year counterbalance forklift driving required
- Prior TDG experience and training considered an asset
- Experience handling chemicals considered an asset
- Shunt truck and skid steer experience considered an asset
Working Conditions:
- Manual dexterity to work with tankers, pumps, and other associated equipment
- Comfortable with working at heights and previous working at heights training considered an asset
- Overtime as required
- Requirement to work both inside and outside in all conditions
- Able to identify any health and safety issues
