Position Summary
SIRCH Community Services is seeking a motivated and versatile youth (ages 15-30) to join our Thrift Warehouse team as a Sales Clerk through the Canada Summer Jobs program. This exciting opportunity offers hands-on experience in both donation processing and retail operations, allowing you to develop valuable skills in customer service, teamwork, and organization while supporting a community-focused organization. Responsibilities will include screening and sorting donations, testing electronics, assisting customers on the sales floor, handling cash transactions, and maintaining store organization. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn. Through this role, you’ll gain meaningful work experience while contributing to SIRCH’s mission of fostering community resilience and support. This position provides an excellent foundation for personal and professional growth in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

SIRCH team members help bring our mission to life, and we are proud to showcase the people behind our work. Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include a wide variety of jobs in the Receiving Bay and in the Store. In the Bay Clerks will screen and accept/decline donations, sort donated items, test electronics and small appliances, take priced items out to the store. In the store the Clerks will help with sales and customer service, putting priced items on the shelves, helping with carry out, and cash. The Clerks may also be working outside in the building supply area, organizing, tidying and answering customer questions. In all cases the Clerks will deliver excellent customer service, using tact and gratitude at all times. Youth will be trained on all of our policies and procedures and how to safely carry out their responsibilities.
As a Sales Clerk - Receiving Bay and Store Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our non-profit thrift store, Thrift Warehouse Bancroft. This position involves a wide variety of tasks both in the Receiving Bay and on the sales floor, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for our customers.
Responsibilities:
· Screen and accept/decline donations, ensuring compliance with store policies.
· Sort and organize donated items efficiently and effectively.
· Test electronics and small appliances to determine their functionality.
· Take priced items from the Receiving Bay to the sales floor.
