Pembina Hills School Division provides education to approximately 3600 students in 15 community schools in north central Alberta. The Schools
Pembina Hills School Division operates two Outreach programs, one in Barrhead, and one in Westlock. These programs are alternative programs for those students whose personal circumstances make it difficult to successfully attend a traditional high school. These programs are designed to help students achieve both academically and socially.
The Position
As the School Administrative Assistant III, the successful candidate will support the Administration team and manage the day to day operations of the schools, including support to the Associate Principal with respect to finance, human resources and needs of the students and staff. As the Educational Assistant, the successful candidate must be a self-directed team player who is interested in providing support and encouragement to students with a diversity of learning needs.
Hours of work will be Monday-Friday at 7 hours/day following the school calendars. Duties are to commence September 7, 2026, or as mutually agreed upon, and will end June 25, 2027.

- Handling detail with a high degree of
accuracy
- Possess excellent public relations
and communication skills
- Have strong writing, proofreading
and editing skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and
establish priorities
- Able to exercise a high degree of
confidentiality
- Able to work independently and to
collaborate to provide team support
- Computer and technology skills in
programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat, PASI, and PowerSchool
- Experience working in a school
setting is an asset
- Experience with budgets, purchase
orders, petty cash journals, statements and invoices
- Post-secondary training in office
administration is an asset

Experience working with Junior and Senior High students with a diversity of learning needs
First aid would be an asset
