Job Overview

Join our vibrant kitchen team as a Prep Cook/Kitchen Helper on a casual, part-time basis! This energetic role is perfect for individuals passionate about food, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to a dynamic culinary environment. As a vital member of our food service team, you'll assist with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the food industry while working in a lively, supportive setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation by chopping, slicing, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients for chefs and ensuring timely delivery of prepared items
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing ingredients properly
Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items
Help with restocking supplies and ingredients to keep the kitchen well-equipped for service
Support serving staff by preparing garnishes or assisting with plating when needed
Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and adhering to all health and safety regulations

Experience

Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are most important
Familiarity with basic food handling procedures and safety standards in a commercial kitchen setting
Experience in meal preparation or cooking tasks is advantageous
Knowledge of food industry best practices related to hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Prior kitchen experience or culinary training is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
