Job Duties Include but are not limited to:

Knowledge and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns and behavioral problems.
An understanding of the needs and barriers faced by individuals with various abilities.
Command of English language with ability to communicate effectively and complete daily documentation.
Ability to understand and follow health care plans, personal protocols, schedules, and activities.
Ability to follow policies and procedures, including health and safety policies.
An understanding of the difference between creating independence vs. creating dependence
Competence to safely accompany/transport individuals to appointments and activities in the community.
Knowledge and experience with community resources, integration, and teaching life skills
The physical ability to perform all the duties required of the position.

Qualifications & Experience:

A minimum of 1 years of full-time experience supporting individuals with complex needs (including developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as complex mental health diagnoses.)
Must have a College diploma or University degree in a relevant discipline (Child and Youth Care/Social Work/Psychology/Nursing or equivalent discipline)
Previous knowledge and experience implementing principles of ABA
Competent with collecting and analyzing data
Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check required: VSC accepted if within the last 6 months
Child Intervention Check required: IRC accepted if within the last 6 months
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
A valid AB driver’s license (minimum class 5), proof of appropriate insurance third-party liability of $2 million, a Drivers Abstract and Insurance Claim letter that reflects safe driving habits.
Restraint training (CPI, TCI or NVCI) an asset
Trauma Informed Care an asset
Suicide Prevention and Aareness Training an asset
Food Safety Certification an asset
Intermediate level computer skills using MS Office, Internet and email
Extensive experience in social skills curriculum and family dynamics, including child abuse and family violence
Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience providing counseling referrals to appropriate resource agencies within and outside the District
Ability to knowledgeably implement a wide range of therapeutic interventions
Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions

Bridgeway Connection Services offers a competitive salary range from $20.16 to $24.25 per hour based on experience and education as well as a comprehensive benefits package, as per the General Employment Conditions. Hours of work are 40 hrs/week.
