Position: Wellness Program Facilitator
Location: Cornerstone to Recovery – Wellness Centre, Newmarket
Details: Cornerstone to Recovery is seeking a full-time Wellness Program Facilitator to work in our Wellness Centre on weekdays. We require a highly charismatic and passionate individual who is multifaceted and flexible in their skillsets. The hired individual will work with adults and families who are experiencing and impacted by substance abuse and mental illness, to provide a wide variety of supportive services in a community environment. Job Details:
- Full-time with set hours Monday to Friday – 8 am – 4 pm

Experience Required:
- Computer skills (outlook, word and basic excel) is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills & a charismatic and outgoing personality is required.
- Lived experience with substance abuse / addiction is required.
- Experience working in the field of mental health and addictions and/or diploma or certificate in mental health and addictions or social work is required.
- Previous work experience in a fitness or wellness facility is an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
o Overseeing the daily operations of the Wellness Centre including:
o Greeting members as they arrive and assisting with sign in, questions, orientations and assisting them with any issues or recovery needs as they arise.
o Scheduling tours, orientations, personal training and volunteers.
o Completing tours with community partners and potential members.
o Emailing all members + staff on a monthly basis with the upcoming month calendar, weekly calendar and any updates members may need to know or benefit from.
o Processing payments, registrations, class reservations and other daily operational needs with high attention to detail.
o Answer all email and phone inquiries for the Wellness Centre.
o Provide regular reporting to management on all Wellness issues as they arise.
o Updating the the online calendar and system regularly with all new programs and schedule changes.
o Work with volunteers, members, students, and staff to ensure that the Policy and Procedures are adhered to and the safety of the environment is maintained.
o Complete incident reports for all incidents that occur within Wellness and submit to management for review.
o Monitor and report all member issues as they arise and deal with in a manner as decided by management.
o Contact Wellness Instructors and support them as needed
o Manage all opening and closing of the centre and daily operations.
o Provide regular reporting to management on all Wellness issues as they arise.
o Assisting members with needs external to Wellness as time and resources are available. This includes but is not limited to internal and external program referrals, applications and other community connecting.
o Provide material and supply requests on a monthly basis to Program Coordinator
o Report all maintenance issues to Programs Coordinator.
o Maintaining the cleanliness of the Wellness Centre.
o In collaboration with the Programs Coordinator, review resumes, interview and train Student Placements for the Wellness Centre.
o In collaboration with the Program Coordinator, review potential new programs and/or volunteers for the Wellness Centre.
o Conduct Peer support when applicable (lived experience).
o Wellness administration duties
o Program facilitation and design with new programs appoved by Program Coordinator
o Fundraising event planning and execution
o Other related duties and special projects as warranted and assigned
