Primary Responsibilities:
- Share in the commitment towards a positive workplace culture. Lead while focusing on the core professional values of respect, trust, and team collaboration
- Support methodologies and Operating systems (KPI’s); People, Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost
- Evaluate and identify unique ways to improve the organization (cost reductions, use of resources, policies/procedures, products); generating useful new ideas, approaches or techniques
- Performance management as well as employee development responsibilities
- Ensuring that the floor has adequate tools, product, parts, chemicals, work instructions, etc. for smooth consistent operation
- Initiate quality investigation when appropriate
- Coaching and Mentoring of a Group Lead as needed
- Report to Assembly Manager
- Ensure that standard operating procedures and processes are adhered to
- Provide feedback to Senior Supervisor regarding the performance of group members
- Work with Senior Supervisor to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and to create solutions to complex problems
- Assists with maintaining a structured work environment that benefits both the employees and customers, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure that the Occupational Health and Safety Act is being followed by all team members
- Practical application of the CORE continuous improvement process
- Planning and coordinating resources and activities within the team and other departments as required
- Lead and motivate a team of individuals
- Coach the team to remain motivated even when faced with inevitable delays, setbacks and policy shifts
Shifts:
- Day Shift: Monday–Friday, Hours per day (Mon–Thu 9‑hour shifts and Fri 4‑hour shift). Start time is flexible (6 am - 7 am)
- Afternoon Shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–12:00 AM (4×10‑hour shifts)
- Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (3×12‑hour shifts)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Completion of Post-Secondary in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing) or 5-10 years’ work experience equivalent
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Prior working responsibility for the safety, quality, schedule and cost in an AS9100 factory environment
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in an applicable discipline considered an asset
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Highly effective communication skills, with all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisions
- Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience
- Must have an intermediate knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting company policies and procedures
- Candidate must be able to show evidence of self-motivation and possess an excellent work ethic
- Exhibits strong ability to follow rules / regulations; including Environmental, Health, & Safety, and policies
- Proven experience and knowledge of CORE principles, production systems and team member roles and responsibilities
- Demonstrated core professional values of respect, trust, and team collaboration
- Practical application experience in CORE continuous improvement process
- Strong understanding and knowledge of supervisory responsibilities within the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Acquiring and retaining knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience
