Monday–Friday schedule (no overnight shifts)
What you’ll do: The Operating Room Circulator is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of patient care before, during, and immediately following surgical procedures. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary surgical team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and passionate about providing outstanding patient care in a private surgical setting. Responsibilities

Function as the circulating nurse during plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures.

Prepare the operating room and ensure all equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning properly.

Perform patient identification and surgical safety checks in accordance with accreditation standards.

Ensure adherence to aseptic technique and infection prevention protocols.

Coordinate patient positioning, skin preparation, and intraoperative documentation.

Monitor patient safety throughout the surgical procedure.

Communicate effectively with the surgeon, anesthesia provider, scrub nurse, and recovery staff.

Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and surgical documentation.

Assist with operating room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.

Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and maintaining surgical supplies.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinic policies and accreditation standards.

Respond appropriately to emergency situations utilizing ACLS protocols.
-
Participate in on-call or additional operating days as required.
Qualifications Required
-
Current registration in good standing with the applicable provincial College of Nurses.

Completion of an accredited Operating Room Nursing Certificate (Perioperative Nursing Certificate).

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
-
Minimum 2 years of recent operating room circulating experience.

Excellent knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.

Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
-
Proficiency with electronic medical records.
Preferred
-
Previous experience in a private plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery clinic.

Experience circulating for:

Cosmetic surgical procedures

Reconstructive plastic surgery
-
Local anesthetic procedures
-
General anesthesia cases

Experience with accreditation standards for Out-of-Hospital Premises (OHP) or private surgical facilities.

PACU experience is considered an asset.
